YUP.. you heard that right.. Tigers offered JEREMY BONDERMAN a contract..this is typical Detoit Tigers, they can just NEVER let a player go.. he wasnt very good when he was a Tiger and now after tommy john surgery they want to bring him back? this is like the Brandon Inge, Ryan Raburn trash all over again….hopefully he gets signed..for the Mud Hens.
at first glance you may say.. HELL NO to this request from Anibal, but if you take a look at the trend of money being spent on free agent pitchers the past 3 years its not a real surprise 15 million is what he wants per year. The best example i can give you is CJ Wilsons contract for the Angels last year which he recieved 15.5 Million a year, im not happy with the cost of pitchers but considering we gave up our top prospects last year ( Jacob Turner + 1 ) to receive Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante i feel that we need to resign Anibal simply to make that trade not be a complete waste. Theres alot of money coming off the books this year with Delmon Young and Valverde being booted out the door so why not? i would much rather have a YOUNG, SOLID pitching staff with Verlander, Fister, Scherzer, and Sanchez + whomever you want..porcello?. That pitching staff would be good enough to get us to the playoffs + a little tweek with the offense and the returning of Vmart… This team will be good enough to return to the world series
really no shocker here.. Miggy led the AL with a .330 batting average, 44 home runs and 139 RBI to become the first player to win the Triple Crown since Boston’s Carl Yastrzemski in 1967. He also led the league with a .606 slugging percentage and 377 total bases. This is the third time Miggy has won this award joining Alan Trammell and Cecil Fielder as the only three time winners in the history of the Tigers. Miggy is only 29 and clearly in the prime of his career, should be another exciting year next year for the Tigers with this beast leading the way.
Another game, another loss for the pistons as they were defeated 105-103 on Wedneday vs the Kings, that is 5 straight games giving up more then 100 points on defense… but on a bright note Greg Monroe did have a triple double. Monroe had the first Pistons triple-double in nearly nine years. He finished with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists the last Piston to accomplish a triple double was Chauncy Billups in 2004. This Pistons team is dead last in rebounding and their defense is horrible…there really is nothing to look forward too for this season except to work on getting better next year, This time is not making the playoffs, and quite honestly would be better off finishing at the bottom of the league to up thier chances of a lower draft pick
for those who don’t watch a lot of baseball, the silver slugger award is awarded to the best offensive players at each position voted on by coaches and managers, the Tigers 3,4 hitters both received the award for their first basemen and third basemen positions. This would be Fielders 3rd silver sluggar award as he won 2 with the Brewers before being traded to the Tigers, and this is Miggys 2nd silver award, his first time being in 2010. With these 2 slotted in the 3.4 batting order spots next year AND with Vmart coming back…. Tigers should be considered a lock to repeat as AL Central Champions
Calvin Johnson has been injury plagued all season, and is now questionable for this weeks game. Johnson’s injuries this season have been a finger, ankle, concussion, left knee, and now nerve damage. Nerve damage has been commented on by Johnson for reasons for him dropping so many balls this season ” Actually, I had some nerve damage, so that was kind of messing up my grip a little bit,” Johnson said. so far this year Johnson has 48 receptions for 767 yards and one touchdown this season. compared to last seasons 1,088 yards and 11touchdowns… id hate to say it.. but it looks like the Madden curse is a real thing…
is it just me, or does it seem like that ” stomp ” on thanksgiving 3 years ago has really killed his image in the league?..for the second straight year he was voted the dirtiest player by his peers by collecting 31% of the vote beating out Richie Incognito by a large margin. I personally find this to be a joke considering suh only has 1 penalty all year…i guess late haters hate.. Go Lions!
